OPENING OF ISTIQOMAH READING HOUSE IN JATIBENING

In accordance with its vision and mission, Mahapadma Parartha Foundation (Mapafoundation) has prepared a Reading House. In collaboration with the Istiqomah Orphanage Foundation, a reading house has been prepared, which provides a small library facility, which provides books of various interests, which is intended for orphans in the orphanage, and is also open to children and adults, in the surrounding area. .

In planning the Mapafoundation’s first project, at the same time, the Istiqomah Foundation has also recently renovated the rooms on the first floor, which were originally made for shared study rooms. Mapafoundation seizes the opportunity with the help of cooperation, to develop reading facilities in the environment. The room is filled with sturdy bookshelves, equipped with a comfortable reading area with a table and chairs, carpet, fan, whiteboard and also a desktop computer. The Istiqomah Reading House opened on December 29 2018, marked a small feast to celebrate, with orphans and representatives of Cakra International employees.

As is known, the reading interest rate in Indonesia is among the lowest in Asia. There is also very little access to quality reading materials. Therefore, Mapafoundation seeks to mobilize existing resources, by providing access to reading materials at the Istiqomah Reading House. The Reading Room is open to the public, and it is hoped that it will grow, increase its collection, in order to foster interest in reading, deepen knowledge, increase creativity and self-development efforts.

Mapafoundation management prepares a variety of quality book collections, ranging from reading social encyclopedias, history and natural sciences, dictionaries, fiction novels and Indonesian literature, children’s fairy tales from Indonesia and abroad, self-development books, religious knowledge, character and sciences. applicable. The books have been equipped with IDs and library cards, which hopefully can be managed by the children of the Orphanage Foundation who work as librarians.

Come on… Let’s read and cultivate literacy, for a better future and a higher quality identity.
